Police cracked down on an illegal operation in Nalanda district after a Rajgir sex racket bust shocked the popular tourist town. Acting on a tip-off, officers raided Hotel Residency in Rajgir late at night. During the raid, police rescued 15 young women and detained three men. The Rajgir sex racket bust has raised serious concerns about safety in busy tourist locations.
According to officials, the hotel was allegedly being used to run an organised prostitution racket. The rescued girls were reportedly brought from West Bengal after being promised work in cultural programs and entertainment. Instead, the accused forced them into illegal activities.
Police arrested three men from the hotel and registered a case under relevant sections related to human trafficking and immoral activities. Officers have started questioning the accused to identify others involved in the network. They are also checking hotel records and mobile phones for more leads.
Local residents expressed shock after learning about the incident. Rajgir attracts thousands of tourists every year, and such activities damage the town’s image.
Police said they will continue strict checks on hotels and lodges in tourist areas. They also urged citizens to report suspicious activities so authorities can act quickly and prevent exploitation.
