BJP MP and former Union Minister Rajiv Pratap Rudy has declared himself the political guarantor of the Rajput community in Bihar. Through his Sangam Yatra, Rudy claimed that the Thakur community can influence or decide the outcome of nearly 70 assembly seats in the state.
Rudy, who represents Saran in the Lok Sabha, pointed out that Rajputs make up about 3.5% of Bihar’s population. This equals nearly 40–50 lakh people, which he said is larger than the population of some Indian states. He argued that such a strong presence can play a crucial role in shaping election results.
According to Rudy, every caste in Bihar has a guarantor—Lalu Yadav for Yadavs, Nitish Kumar for Kurmis, Chirag Paswan for Paswans, and Jitan Ram Manjhi for the Manjhi community. But Rajputs, until now, lacked such leadership. His Sangam Yatra, he said, fills this gap and brings direction to Rajput voters.
He stressed that Rajputs have long searched for someone to unite them politically. With his claim, Rudy positions himself as the leader who can consolidate Rajput votes and strengthen their influence in Bihar politics.
