Union Minister Rajnath Singh has stated unequivocally that Narendra Modi will remain the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) Prime Ministerial candidate until 2044. In a recent interview, when asked about the party’s choice for the 2029 general elections , Singh replied, “For 2029, 2034, 2039, and 2044, Modi will continue as the PM candidate.”
He added that by 2047, India will celebrate 100 years of independence, by which time the party aims to achieve its vision of a “developed India.” Singh emphasized that only after realizing this goal would Modi consider retirement from active politics.
These remarks underline the BJP’s long-term planning strategy and its continued confidence in Modi’s leadership. Analysts suggest that this announcement is aimed at consolidating support within the party and projecting political stability , while reinforcing the vision of sustained governance under Modi in the coming decades.
