Rajnath Singh Declares Maoist Threat Nearing End
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday asserted that the threat of Maoism in India is nearing its end, crediting coordinated efforts by security forces and local administrations. Speaking in New Delhi on October 21, Singh said, “We resolved not to let this problem persist any longer. The way our police, CRPF, BSF and local administration worked together in an organised manner is commendable.”
He highlighted the significant decline in Maoist activity over the past few years, attributing it to a strong political will and effective ground-level operations. The Minister emphasized that improved coordination, intelligence sharing, and focused development in affected regions have played a key role in weakening the Maoist insurgency.
Singh expressed confidence that with continued efforts, Maoism will soon be a matter of history. His remarks reflect the government’s ongoing commitment to restoring peace and development in formerly affected regions.
