Rajnath Singh Dismisses Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Vote Chori’ Allegations as Baseless
Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday refuted Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s allegations of “vote chori” (vote theft) in the Bihar elections, calling them unfounded and politically motivated. Speaking at a rally in Sasaram, Singh said that if Gandhi genuinely believed votes were being stolen, he should formally approach the Election Commission of India (ECI) with evidence instead of making public accusations. “He is not doing that; he is simply levelling baseless allegations against a constitutional body,” Singh remarked. The Defence Minister asserted that the ECI has maintained complete transparency in conducting the elections and accused the Congress of attempting to discredit democratic institutions for political gain. Singh also highlighted the Centre’s commitment to ensuring free and fair elections across the country. His remarks come amid intensifying campaign rhetoric as Bihar heads into the remaining phases of polling.
