Rajnath Singh Stresses Free and Inclusive Indo-Pacific, Supports ASEAN-Led Security Framework
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has emphasized that the Indo-Pacific region must remain free from any form of coercion, underlining India’s commitment to a rules-based, stable, and secure regional order. Speaking at a strategic forum in New Delhi, Singh highlighted the importance of maintaining open sea lanes, upholding sovereignty, and ensuring that no country dominates or intimidates others in the region. He also stressed India’s support for strengthening the ASEAN-led inclusive regional security architecture, noting that cooperation and dialogue among regional players are essential for peace and development. The minister reaffirmed India’s stance on multilateral engagement, stating that partnerships with like-minded nations and participation in regional initiatives are crucial to addressing shared security challenges, including maritime threats and terrorism. Singh’s remarks signal India’s proactive role in safeguarding strategic interests while promoting stability and cooperation across the Indo-Pacific.
