Defence Minister Rajnath Singh visited the historic HMAS Kuttabul naval facility in Sydney on Friday. He toured the facilities at Sydney Harbour onboard Admiral Hudson and discussed strengthening naval collaboration with Australia.
Singh arrived on Wednesday for a two-day official visit at the invitation of Australian Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Richard Marles. On Thursday, he met Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Marles to discuss defence cooperation and regional security challenges.
During the Australia-India Defence Ministers’ Dialogue in Canberra, Singh and Marles reviewed defence industry, cyber defence, maritime security, and joint exercises. Singh emphasized the importance of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two nations.
Prime Minister Albanese welcomed Singh’s visit. He said the defence partnership is “built on trust, shared interests and a commitment to a secure and prosperous Indo-Pacific.” Both countries agreed to enhance strategic dialogue and strengthen joint military exercises.
