Ahead of Rajya Sabha Elections 2026, Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Tejashwi Yadav has placed party MLAs under close watch to prevent any possible split or cross-voting. The party has gathered its legislators in a Patna hotel and plans several meetings before voting day.
Sources said the move aims to ensure unity during the Rajya Sabha Elections 2026. RJD leaders fear that rival parties may attempt horse-trading or try to lure MLAs with money or political offers. To avoid this, the party has asked all MLAs to stay together at one location.
The RJD has also assigned former MLAs to monitor current legislators. Party leaders say the arrangement will help maintain discipline and prevent any last-minute defections before the vote.
Meanwhile, meetings of the opposition alliance are expected in Patna. Senior leaders, including Lalu Prasad Yadav, may guide MLAs on voting strategy ahead of the crucial election.
