Rajya Sabha Seat Demand: Manjhi Advises Son Santosh Suman to Step Down

Jitan Ram Manjhi addressing party workers, demanding Rajya Sabha seat for his son

Former Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi has told his son, Santosh Kumar Suman, to give up his ministerial post if he does not get a Rajya Sabha seat. Manjhi expressed his disappointment over the current seat allocation in the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). He stressed that his party, Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM), deserves representation in the Upper House.

At a party event in Gaya, Manjhi said two Rajya Sabha seats went to BJP, two to JD(U), and one to LJP, while HAM got none. “After BJP, HAM has the strongest vote share. Yet, we were ignored,” he said. He asked his son to “let go of attachment to the ministerial post” if the seat is not granted.

Manjhi encouraged party workers to strengthen HAM and work for greater influence. He said the party should assert its demands boldly and prepare for bigger roles.

His remarks show rising tension in the NDA over political representation. HAM may push harder for its share of power in upcoming elections.
