A recruitment scam in Bihar Education Department has surfaced during appointments made under the Bihar Education Project Council (BEPC). Several job seekers alleged that they were promised government-linked jobs in exchange for money. According to official sources, district authorities sent a detailed letter to the Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) of the education department. The letter followed multiple complaints from candidates who claimed they paid large sums for jobs that never materialised.
The appointments were linked to an outsourcing agency engaged by BEPC. Officials said the scheme allowed limited hiring per district, but intermediaries allegedly misused it. The accused reportedly demanded between ₹1.5 lakh and ₹2.5 lakh from each candidate.
Several victims later approached the police and submitted written complaints. They also urged the government to cancel suspicious appointments and recover the money.
The district administration asked for a high-level inquiry and strict action against those involved. Authorities said they want to protect the credibility of future recruitment drives and restore public trust.
The education department is now reviewing the matter and examining documents related to the alleged scam.
