The Red Fort blast issue was raised during a Parliamentary Standing Committee on Home Affairs meeting. However, the panel’s chairperson, Dr. Radha Mohan Das Agrawal, refused to discuss the matter. The chairperson also blocked any suo motu statements related to the blast near the Red Fort that killed 12 people.
An MP from the Trinamool Congress brought up concerns about the blast and alleged intelligence failure during the session. The committee was meeting to discuss disaster management and hear views from agencies like the NDMA and NDRF. Despite the urgency, the chairperson declined to take up the blast issue in the ongoing meeting.
The explosion occurred on Monday near the Red Fort traffic signal in New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited LNJP Hospital on Wednesday to meet survivors. The committee continues focusing on disaster management while the blast investigation unfolds.
