Reliance Industries Confirms No Russian Oil Imports in January
Reliance Industries has confirmed that it does not expect any Russian oil shipments in January, noting that no imports have arrived over the past three weeks. This follows the company’s November 20, 2025, announcement that it had halted the import of Russian crude for its export-oriented Special Economic Zone (SEZ) unit at Jamnagar.
The decision to stop sourcing Russian oil is part of Reliance’s strategic realignment of its supply chain, focusing on diversified crude sources to meet domestic and international demand. Company officials emphasized that operations at the Jamnagar SEZ refinery continue smoothly, with alternative crude supplies ensuring uninterrupted production and exports.
Analysts note that the move aligns with broader trends in India’s oil sector, as refiners seek to reduce dependence on specific sources amid geopolitical uncertainties. Reliance has reaffirmed its commitment to efficient supply chain management while maintaining its export commitments and domestic fuel production targets.
