In a partial relief, the Supreme Court has directed the trial court to decide on the bail plea of YSRCP leader Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy independently, without linking it to the cases of other accused in the Andhra Pradesh liquor scam. The apex court’s order allows Chevireddy’s bail application to be considered on its individual merits, providing him a temporary reprieve.

Earlier, the High Court had ruled that the trial court should not take up bail pleas of other accused until a final decision was made on MP Mithun Reddy’s bail. Challenging that order, Chevireddy approached the Supreme Court, which has now set aside the restriction, enabling the lower court to hear his plea separately.

This decision gives Chevireddy some legal relief, though the investigation in the alleged liquor scam continues.
