Renewable, Low-Carbon Systems to Drive Telangana’s Clean-Energy Vision
Telangana has outlined an ambitious clean-energy plan aimed at transforming the State into a major green-energy hub. As part of this vision, large-scale adoption of renewable and low-carbon power systems will be prioritised to meet rising energy demand while reducing dependence on fossil fuels. The roadmap includes expanding solar and wind capacity, modernising the power grid, and integrating advanced energy-storage solutions to ensure reliability.
A major highlight of the plan is the transition to green mobility. Hyderabad is set to host the country’s largest electric bus fleet by 2030, marking a significant step toward low-emission public transportation. In line with long-term climate goals, the sale of internal-combustion engine vehicles will be phased out after 2039, accelerating the shift toward electric and hydrogen-powered transport.
These measures form part of a broader effort to cut emissions, improve urban air quality, and position Telangana as a leader in sustainable growth and clean-energy innovation.
