Republic Day 2026: 982 Personnel to Receive Gallantry and Service Medals
On the occasion of Republic Day 2026, a total of 982 personnel were selected to receive gallantry and service medals for their exceptional work and dedication. These awards recognize bravery, commitment, and outstanding service in different fields.
Among the awardees, 125 persons will receive the Medal for Gallantry (GM). Of these, 121 are from the police force, who have shown courage in protecting citizens and maintaining law and order. The remaining four recipients are from fire services, honored for their bravery in saving lives and controlling fire emergencies.
Other awards include medals for distinguished service and exceptional contribution in public safety, emergency response, and administrative work. These awards highlight the sacrifices and dedication of personnel who work tirelessly to ensure the safety and well-being of the public. Officials said the awards would be presented during the Republic Day ceremony, inspiring others to serve the nation with courage and commitment
