Controversial filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma (RGV) has once again found himself embroiled in a legal issue. A case has been filed against him at the Rayadurgam Police Station following a complaint by retired IPS officer Anjana Sinha. The complaint stems from RGV’s recent web series Dahanam, in which he allegedly mentioned Sinha’s name in connection with Maoists.
In her complaint, Sinha stated that RGV used her name without her consent, portraying her involvement in the series’ narrative without her knowledge or approval. She claimed that certain scenes were created in a way that seemed to suggest her active participation, which she vehemently denied.
The police have registered the case under five sections and are investigating the matter further. This incident adds to the list of controversies surrounding RGV, who has frequently been at the center of disputes over the years, especially involving his bold political and social commentary.
