Ritu Jaiswal Turns Rebel in Parihar, Challenges RJD and Tejashwi Yadav

Ritu Jaiswal Turns Rebel

The Parihar Assembly constituency has become one of Bihar’s most talked-about battlegrounds. Former RJD leader Ritu Jaiswal, popularly known as “Mukhiya Didi,” is contesting as an independent candidate after being denied an RJD ticket. Her move has intensified the contest in the region.

Ritu Jaiswal, who lost the 2020 assembly election to BJP’s Gayatri Devi by just 1,569 votes, has openly criticized RJD chief Tejashwi Yadav. On November 5, she issued a sharp warning, stating that the RJD lost Parihar the day it ignored local workers while distributing party symbols.

In a Facebook post, she urged Tejashwi to focus on other seats, claiming that the people of Parihar had already made up their minds. Her confident message has drawn attention across Bihar’s political landscape.

Born in Hajipur, Ritu began her career as the Mukhiya of Singhvahini Panchayat, where she implemented notable schemes for education, sanitation, and women’s empowerment. Married to former IAS officer Arun Kumar, she continues to inspire local women.

Although she contested the 2024 Lok Sabha elections from Shivhar on an RJD ticket, her loyalty remains rooted in Parihar, where her political journey truly began.
