RJD Raises Alarm Over Bihar EVM Strong Room Security

RJD

The RJD has raised concerns over the security of EVM strong rooms following the first phase of Bihar elections. The party demanded that the Election Commission enhance security measures to prevent any tampering. Prof. Manoj Jha, national spokesperson and MP, also wrote to the Election Commission highlighting these issues.

RJD shared two posts on its official X handle. The first claimed that the CCTV camera in Samastipur’s strong room went offline for half an hour. The party criticized the Election Commission and local administration for providing excuses such as power outages, dead batteries, TV sleep mode, or lack of generators. “Your credibility and integrity are zero. Stop these vote-stealing tactics!” the post read.

In another post, RJD released a video showing suspicious individuals entering the strong room in Moinuddin Nagar assembly constituency, Samastipur. The party demanded clarification on their identity and activities, warning of outsiders attempting to steal votes in connivance with anti-Bihar elements.

Earlier, RJD had shared footage from Hajipur showing a switched-off CCTV and a pickup van entering the strong room at midnight. The Vaishali District Magistrate has ordered an investigation and promised updates soon. The RJD continues to push the Election Commission to tighten security at all EVM strong rooms.
