RJD Vote Share Leads Despite Heavy Bihar Election Loss

RJD

The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) faced a major blow in the Bihar Assembly elections as voters pushed the party back into the opposition. By 12:30 pm, the Tejashwi Yadav-led party was ahead in only 32 seats, showing a sharp decline in its overall performance.

The BJP moved into a strong position with leads in 85 seats, while the JDU followed closely with 77 seats. Chirag Paswan’s LJP also surprised many by leading in 20 seats. These numbers made it clear that the RJD would need to wait at least five more years before it can hope to return to power in the state.

The Congress managed leads in just seven seats, while the CPI (ML) also looked set to secure around seven seats.

However, the RJD found some relief in its vote share. Despite trailing in seats, the party held the highest vote share in the state. Based on votes counted until 12:30 pm, the RJD secured nearly 23 percent of the total votes. The BJP followed with 21.32 percent, and the JDU posted 18.92 percent. Congress received 8.15 percent.

These early numbers showed that while the RJD struggled in seats, its voter base stayed strong.
