The Rohini Acharya women’s rights post has triggered a fresh political debate in Bihar. The Janata Dal United (JDU), led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, openly supported the statement made by Rohini Acharya, daughter of RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav.
JDU acting president and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Jha said that since Rohini raised genuine women’s issues, the government would take the matter seriously. He also took a sharp swipe at the RJD, claiming that people now feel suffocated under its politics.
Speaking in Delhi, Sanjay Jha highlighted several steps taken by the Nitish Kumar government for women’s safety and welfare. He said Bihar provides security to all citizens, especially women, and assured that any genuine demand would receive attention.
Referring to daughters’ rights, Jha said Nitish Kumar’s work for women in Bihar stands unmatched. He added that recent political results have exposed what he called the “hollow nature” of RJD politics.
The Rohini Acharya women’s rights post, shared on social media, questioned symbolic schemes and called for deeper reforms. She stressed that daughters must feel safe and respected in their maternal homes.
Rohini also said Bihar needs a strong social and political shift to break deep-rooted patriarchy and protect women from future abuse.
