Panic gripped Mochi Bazaar on Saturday night after two unidentified assailants shot dead Naveen Arora, the son of senior RSS leader Baldev Raj Arora. According to eyewitnesses, Naveen, who operated a grocery shop in the bustling market, was returning home after closing his store when the attackers intercepted him and opened fire. The bullet struck him in the head, killing him on the spot. The assailants immediately fled towards Ban Bazaar.

The sudden gunfire caused chaos in the crowded marketplace, with shopkeepers and residents rushing for safety. Rajesh Khurana, an RSS worker, confirmed that Naveen was the grandson of pre-independence RSS leader Deenanath Arora. He said the attack took place near UCO Bank, and despite being rushed to a private hospital in Firozpur, Naveen was declared dead on arrival.

Family members expressed shock and anger, alleging that the murder appeared to be a targeted and well-planned act. Ashok Behl, a relative, said both Naveen’s father and grandfather were senior RSS workers and suggested that the killing may have been carried out to spread fear in the city. He stated that the attackers seemed to have monitored Naveen’s movements closely before executing the brutal crime.

Police have launched a detailed investigation, examining CCTV footage, eyewitness accounts, and possible motives behind the killing. Security has been heightened in the area as tension prevails among residents and local traders.
