RTI information controversy has sparked debate in Bihar after reports claimed that some leaders received both salary and pension at the same time. The RTI information controversy grew louder when former minister Nitish Mishra’s name appeared in the list.
Nitish Mishra said the reports were misleading. He explained that the RTI reply shared on social media did not show full details. He said he received a former MLA pension only for a short period, from September 22 to November 8, 2015. After that, he never received any pension. Mishra added that he was not an MLA at that time.
He said no public representative can take salary and pension together, and he has always followed this rule. Mishra stated that some media channels spread confusion without checking facts. He also shared treasury documents to support his clarification.
Upendra Kushwaha also rejected the same claims. He said he only took pension when he was not a member of any House and now receives only his Rajya Sabha salary.
Both leaders urged people to verify information before sharing it.
