RUF at Visakh Refinery a Major Boost for A.P.: CM
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Monday described the Residue Upgradation Facility (RUF) at HPCL’s Visakh Refinery as a major milestone for Andhra Pradesh’s industrial and economic growth. Inaugurating the state-of-the-art facility, he said the project would significantly enhance the refinery’s capacity to process heavier crude oil and increase the production of high-value petroleum products. The Chief Minister noted that the RUF would improve fuel availability in the region, reduce dependence on imports, and strengthen energy security.
Naidu highlighted that the project reflects Andhra Pradesh’s commitment to attracting large-scale investments and modernising core infrastructure. He added that the facility would generate employment opportunities, support ancillary industries, and contribute to the socio-economic development of North Andhra districts. The Chief Minister also praised HPCL for adopting advanced technologies while adhering to environmental standards, stating that such projects would position Andhra Pradesh as a key energy and industrial hub in the country.
