Speculation is spreading that Russian President Vladimir Putin may be arrested following the International Criminal Court (ICC) arrest warrant issued against him. Reports suggest this could happen after his upcoming meeting with former U.S. President Donald Trump in Hungary to discuss the Russia–Ukraine war.
However, official sources clarified that such an arrest is highly unlikely, as the ICC does not possess direct enforcement powers. Only member nations of the ICC can act on its warrants within their jurisdiction. Hungary’s Prime Minister has already assured full security for President Putin during his visit, dismissing any notion of arrest.
The rumors reflect ongoing international tension surrounding Russia’s actions in Ukraine and the limited reach of global legal mechanisms like the ICC.
