‘Rythanna Meekosam’ More Hype Than Help, Claims YSRCP Leader

YSR Congress Party leader Karumuri Venkata Nageswara Rao has criticised the State government’s ‘Rythanna Meekosam’ initiative, calling it a publicity stunt aimed at misleading farmers rather than addressing their real concerns. Speaking in Vijayawada, he alleged that the programme was designed primarily for political image-building, with crores of public money being spent on propaganda instead of genuine agricultural support.
Mr. Nageswara Rao argued that farmers continue to struggle with issues such as delayed input subsidies, rising cultivation costs, and lack of adequate market support, none of which the campaign meaningfully tackles. He accused the government of diverting attention from its failure to deliver on promises made to the farming community.
The YSRCP leader urged the administration to focus on practical solutions, including timely payments, improved procurement systems, and long-term support mechanisms, rather than promotional exercises that offer little real benefit to farmers.
