Saharsa murder case has shocked Bihar after a man was brutally shot dead while sleeping at his home. The incident took place late Thursday night in Mankhawa village under the Sonvarsha Raj police station area of Saharsa district.
Umesh Mistry was asleep when unknown attackers fired at him. The bullets hit his head and chest, killing him on the spot. Family members woke up in panic after hearing the gunshots and found him lying in a pool of blood.
After receiving information, Sonvarsha Raj police reached the spot quickly. The body was taken into custody and sent to Sadar Hospital, Saharsa, for postmortem. Senior police officers also visited the village and reviewed the situation.
The FSL team examined the crime scene. Police recovered three empty cartridges from outside the house. The Saharsa murder case has now become a priority investigation for local authorities.
Police said Umesh Mistry was earlier shot in May last year during a dispute involving his son Manish Mistry and Ravindra Yadav. Both were arrested and remain in jail.
Officials suspect a domestic or land dispute behind the crime. The exact motive will be clear after family statements and the postmortem report.
