Nitish Kumar took oath as Chief Minister for the tenth time at Gandhi Maidan in Patna, where 26 ministers also took oath. Sanjay Singh Tiger was one of the new leaders added to the government. He won the Ara seat for the first time and immediately joined the new cabinet.
He comes from Amarai village near Bihiya in Bhojpur district. His father is Madhav Singh, and his elder brother Dharampal Singh served as MLA twice. Sanjay Singh Tiger completed his graduation from AN College, Patna, in 1993.
In 2015, he contested from Sandesh on a BJP ticket but lost to Arun Kumar Yadav of the RJD. This time, he ran as an NDA-backed candidate from Ara. He won on a BJP ticket and defeated Kayamuddin Ansari of CPI-ML by more than 19,000 votes. He secured 94,201 votes, marking a strong comeback in Bihar politics.
