School timetables changed in Bihar due to cold weather notification

School timetables changed in Bihar due to cold weather, bringing relief to students during harsh winter mornings. The Bihar Education Department has announced a revised model timetable for all government schools across the state.

Under the new order, schools will open at 9:30 am, while the first bell will ring at 10:00 am. This decision applies to government primary, middle, secondary, and higher secondary schools. Sanskrit and Urdu schools will also follow the same schedule.

According to the notification, schools will function till 4:00 pm. The revised timetable was released on Friday and signed by the Director of Secondary Education, Sajjan R.

The prayer and morning activities will take place from 9:30 am to 10:00 am. During this time, teachers will check students’ uniforms, hygiene, homework, and conduct general discussions, news reading, and general knowledge sessions.

There will be a 40-minute midday break from 12:00 noon, during which the mid-day meal will be served. Classes will continue in eight periods until dismissal.

The new timetable also makes one hour of sports, music, or painting compulsory for every class. On Saturdays, non-academic activities like children’s parliament, sports, and cultural programs will be conducted.
