The Seafood Exporters Association of India (SEAI) has said that the seafood sector is recovering strongly after landmark agreements with the United States and the European Union. SEAI president Pawan Kumar called it a “double win” for the industry, as the deals are expected to save thousands of jobs across India’s coastal regions.

He said the agreements will help increase seafood exports and restore confidence among exporters and farmers. Andhra Pradesh, which is the main aquaculture hub of the country, will benefit the most. The State supports lakhs of people who depend on shrimp farming, processing units, transport, and exports.

The deals are expected to ease trade restrictions and improve market access for Indian seafood products. This will help farmers get better prices and ensure steady demand.

Pawan Kumar said the revival of the seafood sector will strengthen the coastal economy and provide stable livelihoods to fishermen, farmers, and workers linked to the industry.
