Nominations for 121 assembly seats in Bihar begin today, marking the first phase of the Bihar Election 2025. The Nitish Kumar-led NDA and the Tejashwi Yadav-led Grand Alliance are still struggling to finalize seat sharing. This ongoing Bihar Election 2025 tussle has turned focus toward Chirag Paswan and Mukesh Sahni, both key regional influencers.
Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraj Party has already announced its first list of 51 candidates, intensifying the competition. Inside the NDA, Jitan Ram Manjhi and Upendra Kushwaha are demanding 15 and 20 seats respectively, putting pressure on the BJP. Meanwhile, Congress reportedly seeks at least 60 seats within the Grand Alliance after talks with Lalu Prasad Yadav. On the opposition side, CPI-ML’s Dipankar Bhattacharya and Vikassheel Insaan Party’s Mukesh Sahni are testing Tejashwi’s leadership strength.
The Bihar Election 2025 race begins amid internal friction and regional ambitions, setting the stage for a heated political contest.
