Bharatpur’s Sever Central Jail is facing renewed controversy after Krishna Kumar, a convict in the Sanjay Bihari murder case, died early Saturday.
He was serving a life sentence and was a known history-sheeter.
This marks the second death linked to the case in just two months.
Earlier, another convict, Naresh Gupta, had also died in jail, raising serious questions about prison administration.
Krishna Kumar’s wife, Kritika Singh, accused jail authorities of negligence.
She said her husband suffered from asthma, high blood pressure, and severe diabetes.
He had reportedly informed his daughter over the phone that he was not receiving proper medication.
Despite repeated requests, he was allegedly denied hospital care.
Jail Superintendent Parmjit Singh said Krishna Kumar faced severe breathing difficulty around 3 a.m.
He was sent to RBM Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
Family members claim he was brought to the hospital already dead.
Krishna Kumar, also known as Baby, shot Sanjay Bihari at his home on January 28, 2023.
In September 2025, Krishna Kumar, Naresh Gupta, and Bittu were sentenced to life imprisonment.
Krishna Kumar’s death has intensified public debate over jail procedures and prisoner safety.
A medical board will conduct a post-mortem to determine the exact cause of death.
