The SGPC flood relief Punjab plan has been announced to support people hit by floods. The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee set aside ₹20 crore to help families recover. This move shows the Sikh body’s strong commitment to aid those in distress.
SGPC president Harjinder Singh Dhami said farmers will get 8 lakh litres of diesel to prepare fields for crops. Farmers with less than 10 acres will receive high-quality wheat seeds for the new sowing season. Each gurdwara in flood-hit areas will get ₹50,000, and children will be given free textbooks to replace what was lost.
The relief plan also includes 50 medical vans from Sri Guru Ramdas Medical College. These vans will serve in affected areas to treat post-flood health issues. SGPC will also continue langar and ration supplies. Dhami urged the Punjab Government to waive VAT on diesel so that farmers benefit more.
Dhami said the SGPC flood relief Punjab work is funded by Guru’s Golak and community donations. Former SGPC staff donated ₹1.01 lakh at the meeting. The body also honored the flood victims and remembered Baba Baljinder Singh of Rara Sahib. SGPC has already sent relief worth ₹77 lakh to the affected people.
