Congress president YS Sharmila criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for praising the Andhra Pradesh government. She said his comments reminded her of someone ignoring obvious truths. She asked why major issues in the state were not visible to him. She said farmers suffered daily and their struggles never reached Delhi.
Sharmila pointed out that falling prices forced farmers to burn crops. She said frequent cyclones destroyed livelihoods and the Centre failed to respond. She questioned why these harsh realities did not catch the Prime Minister’s attention. She stated that people faced repeated distress without support.
She added that students were suffering in welfare hostels. She said fee reimbursement delays created more problems. She mentioned that stopping Aarogyasri left patients helpless. She accused the coalition government of breaking promises and cutting welfare schemes. She said the government focused only on grand events.
Sharmila said the alliance parties acted only to please the Centre. She asked the Prime Minister to fulfil the state’s bifurcation promises. She demanded special category status for Andhra Pradesh. She urged immediate funds for Amaravati. She said truth would not disappear even if the PM made strong claims.
