A tragic ITBP soldier family dispute shocked the Chetan Tola area of Lakhisarai district on Tuesday evening. The ITBP soldier family dispute turned violent around 7:30 pm when 35-year-old Vikas Kumar, an ITBP jawan, shot and killed his father before ending his own life.
Vikas had recently returned home on leave after duty in Chapra during the assembly elections. On Tuesday, he and his wife got into an argument. Hearing the noise, his father, Uday Shankar Singh, rushed in to calm the situation. Vikas suddenly lost control, pulled out his pistol, and fired three shots at his father.
Uday Shankar Singh died on the spot. Family members said Vikas became even more aggressive after the shooting. He tried to attack his younger brother and wife, but both escaped safely. Moments later, Vikas shot himself.
The entire village went into panic after the incident. Locals said Vikas behaved normally earlier, but his family had been facing disputes for months. Police arrived quickly, sealed the house, and started an investigation. SHO Brajbhooshan Singh said the exact reason behind the fight is still unclear.
