A new twist emerged in Jalandhar over the effigy-burning incident linked to Sidhu Moosewala’s mother, Charan Kaur. She has sent a legal notice worth ₹10 lakh to the Christian Global Action Committee through her lawyer, Gurvinder Sandhu. The notice demands to know under whose instructions her effigy was brought to the protest.

The legal notice gives the committee 15 days to issue a written apology. It also instructs that the apology be published in newspapers and uploaded on all social media platforms for at least 30 days. Charan Kaur should receive ₹10 lakh in compensation for mental anguish, trauma, and damage to her public image. The notice further demands that all comments against her be removed.

The controversy began after a protest against Pastor Ankur Narula on December 10. Three effigies were brought to the demonstration outside the DC office, including one with Charan Kaur’s photo. The Christian community later admitted the mistake, saying the intention was to burn another woman’s effigy. They removed her photo before burning the effigy and ensured it was preserved safely.

Charan Kaur’s legal move underscores the seriousness of the matter and sends a message against public intimidation, highlighting accountability for organizing such demonstrations.
