The Andhra Pradesh government will launch the distribution of newly designed Smart Ration Cards on August 25. Officials confirmed that the printed cards have already reached mandal offices from the printing centers, and arrangements are in place for smooth state-wide distribution.
From August 25 to 31, over nine lakh beneficiaries are expected to receive their Smart Ration Cards. Each card will include the cardholder’s photograph and details of all family members, ensuring accuracy and transparency in beneficiary records.
Alongside this, the state is also introducing Smart e-PoS (Point of Sale) machines at ration shops. These advanced devices aim to streamline the public distribution system by making transactions faster, secure, and more efficient.
Officials believe this new system will reduce irregularities in the ration distribution process while improving service delivery. With Smart Ration Cards and upgraded e-PoS technology, the Andhra Pradesh government hopes to create a more transparent and reliable framework for supplying essential commodities to millions of families.
