Concerns over Solan’s voter list irregularities are growing as BJP leaders accuse civic authorities of serious lapses in preparing the new rolls and redrawing ward boundaries. They say these errors have confused residents ahead of the municipal corporation elections.
Solan city BJP president Shailendra Gupta submitted a complaint to the Chief Election Commission. He said many long-time residents could not find their names in their wards. He added that officials marked old ward boundaries carelessly and placed some areas in multiple wards. He called these actions deliberate attempts to favour select groups.
Gupta said authorities also left out a few older localities during the new mapping. He blamed officials for filing incorrect reports and questioned who directed them to do so.
He said the administration has still not released the voter lists publicly. This delay has left people unsure whether their names appear in the rolls. He demanded the immediate publication of revised lists so voters can verify their details.
The BJP has asked for a fair and independent inquiry under a senior election official. The party also wants legal action against those who knowingly filed false reports. With MC polls approaching, both the BJP and the Congress are watching every development closely.
