The Soni Kumar Tricycle story has touched many hearts across the country. A video showing the disabled girl dragging her feet to reach school went viral on social media and drew public attention. Soon after the video spread online, officials promised to provide her with a tricycle to help her travel easily.
Soni Kumar, a teenager from Ramnagar village in Bihar’s Gopalganj district, has a physical disability. Despite her condition, she travels about two kilometres every day to attend school. She moves by dragging her feet on the road because she does not have a tricycle or any other mobility aid.
After the video became popular online, many people offered help. Singer and BJP MLA Maithili Thakur contacted the district administration and spoke to the District Magistrate about the issue. Officials assured that the Soni Kumar Tricycle would be provided within 24 hours.
Soni dreams of becoming a doctor one day. Her family lives in poverty, and her mother works as a labourer after her father passed away. Even with these challenges, Soni continues her studies with strong determination.
