Patna will host the Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting on September 24. This is the first time since independence that Bihar is chosen for such a major event. The meeting will take place at Sadakat Ashram. Its goal is to strengthen Congress in Bihar ahead of the Assembly elections.
Top leaders including Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and Mallikarjun Kharge will attend. Chief Ministers of Telangana and Karnataka, state presidents, and legislative leaders from across India will also join.
Congress has been out of power in Bihar since the 1990s. It relies heavily on Lalu Yadav’s support. Rahul Gandhi’s Voter Rights Yatra has energized party workers. The CWC meeting will help sustain this momentum.
Preparations are in full swing. Workers are leveling the ground behind Sadakat Ashram and building a German hangar. Congress sites and statues in Patna are being refurbished. State President Rajesh Ram, Legislative Party Leader Shakeel Ahmed Khan, and Legislative Council Leader Madan Mohan Jha are supervising arrangements.
The party has booked 175 rooms across four hotels for delegates. The meeting aims to consolidate the party’s base and show its strength in Bihar ahead of the elections.
