Stalin Accuses Palaniswami and Centre of Betraying Tamil Nadu’s Interests

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin accused AIADMK leader Edappadi K. Palaniswami and the Union government of “betraying” the interests of the State. Speaking in Erode, Stalin criticised Palaniswami for claiming to represent the western region while “doing nothing” to advance its development. He said the former Chief Minister had failed to secure key infrastructure projects for the region despite his political influence.
Stalin also targeted the Centre for withholding approval for the proposed Coimbatore and Madurai Metro rail projects, arguing that the delay reflected the Union government’s neglect of Tamil Nadu’s urban development needs. He asserted that the State government has repeatedly submitted detailed proposals and follow-ups, but the Centre has not responded positively.
Reiterating his commitment to equitable growth across regions, Stalin said his government would continue pressing for major projects and ensuring that Tamil Nadu’s interests are protected.
