The Supaul encroachment clash turned violent on Sunday when police teams faced stone pelting during a court-ordered encroachment removal drive. The operation took place in Simrahi Ward-3 area of Raghopur subdivision under tight security.
Officials reached the spot with magistrates and heavy machinery to clear illegally occupied land. As soon as the bulldozer started work, a group of locals gathered and began protesting. The protest soon escalated into chaos. Several people hurled stones at police officers and workers.
The Supaul encroachment clash led to damage to a bulldozer. Police personnel moved back briefly to avoid injuries. They later used mild force to disperse the crowd and restore order. The operation continued after the situation came under control.
During the unrest, some protesters tried to block National Highway-106, causing brief traffic disruption. Police quickly removed the blockade and ensured smooth movement of vehicles.
Officials confirmed that no serious injuries were reported. Police are identifying those involved in the violence and legal action will follow. The district administration said it will strictly enforce court orders and continue action against illegal encroachments.
