During the Bihar Assembly elections, Prashant Kishor accused the BJP of repeating the “Surat incident.” He claimed that BJP leaders, including Amit Shah and Dharmendra Pradhan, pressured Jan Suraj candidates in Danapur, Gopalganj, and Brahmapur to withdraw or not file nominations. Kishor said this mirrors what happened in Surat, Gujarat, during the Lok Sabha polls.
He alleged BJP leaders even threatened Akhilesh Kumar (Mutur Saav) from Danapur and showed his photo meeting Amit Shah. Similarly, Dr. Satyaprakash Tiwari and Dr. Shashi Shekhar Sinha reportedly withdrew their nominations after meetings with BJP leaders. PK accused the BJP and JDU of subverting democracy and using pressure tactics on Jan Suraj candidates across Bihar.
Kishor described the situation as a serious attack on free elections and democracy in Bihar, likening it to political coercion seen earlier in Gujarat.
