The Chief Minister’s Women’s Employment Scheme aims to support women linked with Jeevika self-help groups. Under the plan, eligible women receive ₹10,000 to start small businesses. So far, around 1.5 crore women have benefited.

However, a technical error led to ₹10,000 transferred to men’s accounts in a few cases. Officials later sent letters asking the recipients to return the money to government accounts.

RJD shared copies of these letters on social media. The letters came from Jeevika block project managers in Darbhanga district. They clarified that only women are eligible for the scheme.

RJD claimed the government rushed the rollout before elections to gain votes. The party also said rising inflation, hunger, and unemployment mean the money may already be spent.

The opposition accused the NDA of vote-buying and election manipulation. Ruling party leaders denied these allegations and blamed a technical glitch.

The controversy continues to fuel political tensions in Bihar.
