For the past 20 days, several rounds of discussions were held between hospital authorities and the state government, but they ended without any resolution. Hospitals argue that they have been struggling to operate under financial stress as dues have remained unpaid for the last 12 months.

With around 330 hospitals participating in the scheme statewide, the suspension of services is expected to impact thousands of patients who rely on Aarogyasri for free or subsidized medical treatment. Hospital associations stressed that services can only be resumed once the government clears the long-pending arrears. He said 22 months of Congress rule have resulted in “welfare bandh, development bandh, and governance bandh.” Declaring Revanth Reddy’s leadership “inefficient and reckless,” Harish Rao predicted that the public is ready to teach Congress a strong lesson in the upcoming elections.

TANHA president Dr. Vaddiraju Rakesh said the association held several meetings with Health Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha and Aarogyasri Health Care Trust (AHCT) officials. Despite 20 days of discussions, no solution emerged. He added that hospitals can no longer bear the burden of unpaid dues.

Starting September 16 at 11:59 p.m., all private network hospitals will suspend Aarogyasri services indefinitely. Thousands of patients who rely on the scheme for critical treatment will be affected by the suspension.

Dr. Rakesh expressed regret over the inconvenience to patients but urged the public to understand the hospitals’ situation. He appealed to the state government to release pending payments immediately and restore services without delay. TANHA emphasized that only a quick resolution can protect both patients and hospitals.
