Multiple explosions shook Kabul on Friday, raising fears of unconfirmed cross-border airstrikes. Residents reported loud blasts and the sounds of aircraft overhead in several neighbourhoods, including District 8, home to government offices and residential areas.

The blasts occurred hours after Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif warned in the National Assembly that terrorism from Afghan soil was intolerable. While Pakistan has not officially claimed responsibility, the timing of Asif’s statement fueled suspicions of deliberate military action.

In response, mobile internet services were suspended in Islamabad and Rawalpindi, though authorities did not provide a reason. Afghan Baloch representative Mir Yar Baloch condemned the alleged strikes, calling them acts of terrorism. He argued that Pakistan’s military garrisons in Balochistan and occupied Pashtunistan threaten regional security.

Mir Yar Baloch proposed that recognition of Balochistan and Pashtunistan by Kabul could secure borders and prevent future attacks. Tensions remain high, and regional observers fear further escalation of military action and cross-border conflict.
