]]> Doctors from AIIMS Delhi, Fortis Hospital, and Guru Nanak Dev Hospital are helping flood-hit families in Amritsar. Walk-in clinics were set up at Baba Buddha Saheb Gurudwara in Ramdass. With support from farmer unions and volunteers, the doctors also reached villages like Ghonewal and Macchiwal.

Most patients reported skin problems, respiratory infections, hypertension, and diabetes. Dr. Amrinder Singh Malhi from AIIMS said antibiotics and essential medicines are urgently needed. To improve access, AIIMS launched a 24×7 helpline (011) for telemedicine consultations. This service allows flood victims to speak directly to AIIMS doctors.

Dr. Rakesh Sharma of Guru Nanak Dev Hospital said the teams are well-prepared for both chronic and general illnesses. He stressed the need for continuous medical camps and more healthcare workers. Dr. Harshvardhan from AIIMS warned about the rising risk of malaria and dengue.

Pediatrician Dr. Amita added that children need vaccinations and anti-allergy medicines in bulk. Doctors from Fortis Healthcare, along with NGOs such as Vishav Ruhani Manav Kendra, are also providing ambulance services. Continuous support is essential to prevent disease outbreaks and protect children’s health.
