Ahead of the previous elections, TDP State General Secretary Nara Lokesh undertook the Yuvagalam padayatra across Andhra Pradesh. During that period, TDP leaders documented the names of leaders who allegedly harassed them in a “Red Book.” At the time, party leaders openly warned that action would follow once the TDP came to power.

Meanwhile, the mention of the Red Book has now created political ripples. Minister Vasamsetti Subhash said former YSRCP minister Kodali Nani reacts nervously whenever the topic arises. While speaking to the media in Amaravati, Subhash strongly criticised Kodali Nani. He recalled that Nani had made offensive remarks against TDP leaders earlier to please former Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy.

However, Subhash alleged that the same leader now fears accountability. He dismissed YSRCP’s signature campaign against government decisions on medical colleges as a political drama. Instead, he advised the party to analyse why it secured only 11 seats in the 2024 elections.

Furthermore, Subhash accused the previous government of turning Visakhapatnam into a drug hub. In contrast, he stated that the present coalition government continues to focus on Visakhapatnam’s development. He added that Lokesh remains committed to long-term growth and governance reforms.

The Kadapa Mayor by-election is turning unpredictable with new twists each day. YSRCP leaders increased lobbying after the government removed the former mayor over corruption allegations. Several leaders are competing to gain control of the post. Each faction is pushing strategies to secure an advantage. Their internal rivalry has created political tension inside the Kadapa Municipal Corporation.

TDP appears likely to stay out of the contest. The party prefers a neutral approach for now. However, political groups believe TDP may indirectly support a favourable YSRCP candidate if needed. Meanwhile, discussions continue over the disqualification of former mayor Suresh Babu. He is fighting the case in the High Court and filed a lunch-motion petition challenging the decision.

The temporary duties are with Deputy Mayor Mumtaz Begum. The election process gained pace after the Election Commission issued the notification. Authorities scheduled a special council meeting on December 11 at the municipal office. All corporators received official invitations. The new mayor will be chosen at 11 a.m. This announcement triggered fresh excitement in Kadapa politics.

The corporation has 50 seats. YSRCP holds 40 after several defections. Only one seat belongs to TDP and one to an Independent. Aspirants within YSRCP intensified lobbying as the term ends on March 18. Analysts believe the High Court ruling may decide who finally claims the mayor’s chair.

YS Sharmila launched a strong attack on Andhra Pradesh MPs for staying silent in Parliament. She said the state elected 36 MPs, yet none speak on crucial issues. She accused them of clapping for Prime Minister Modi while ignoring Andhra Pradesh’s rights. She said 11 years passed since bifurcation, but major promises still remain incomplete.

Sharmila argued that special status, Polavaram funding, the Kadapa steel plant and the Duggarajapatnam port were clear commitments. She said these guarantees are the rightful benefits of Andhra Pradesh. She added that not even five percent of these promises reached the people. She questioned the MPs’ memory and their responsibility towards the state.

She criticised BJP and state parties for focusing only on political gains. She said many MPs behave like rubber stamps in Delhi. She claimed their silence shows loyalty to Modi rather than the people. She said this attitude damaged the state’s progress and delayed key projects.

Sharmila questioned why leaders refuse to fight for special status when it could have boosted the economy. She accused Modi of cheating, Chandrababu of misleading people and Jagan of surrendering to the Centre. She said special status vanished from political discussions because leaders stopped raising their voices.

Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will appear before the CBI Special Court on Thursday. He submitted a request seeking exemption from personal attendance. Officials said the court received the request earlier this week. His appearance is linked to hearings in ongoing cases involving discharge petitions.

The CBI responded that Jagan has avoided personal appearance for nearly six years. The agency informed the court that hearings on discharge petitions are happening daily. According to officials, the CBI argued that Jagan’s presence is required during the ongoing process. The CBI stated that his absence has caused repeated delays.

Following the CBI’s submission, the court instructed YS Jagan to appear in person on or before November 21. The order was issued to ensure smooth progress in the pending matters. The court emphasized that personal attendance is essential at this stage. Officials expect the next hearings to continue without interruptions.

In compliance with the order, Jagan has decided to attend the court a day earlier. His appearance is expected to draw significant attention due to the political implications. Party members and legal teams are preparing for the hearing, which is likely to influence further proceedings.
