Army sources confirmed the incident did not violate the ceasefire. The firing started around 6:15 pm and continued intermittently for nearly an hour. No casualties were reported. The Army has not released an official statement yet.

This brief exchange follows tensions in May, when India launched Operation Sindoor targeting Pakistani terror infrastructure after the Pahalgam attack. The four-day conflict ended with a ceasefire, with India achieving its anti-terror objectives.During Operation Sindoor, several airbases and nine terror launch pads in Pakistan were destroyed. India did not face significant damage. The last confirmed ceasefire violation occurred on May 10, 2025.

Reports of August 5 alleged ceasefire violations were denied by the Indian Army. Officials clarified that no unprovoked firing came from Pakistan and urged the public to avoid spreading unverified news.

Air Chief Marshal AP Singh said Operation Sindoor ended promptly once objectives were achieved. Prolonging the conflict was unnecessary as all anti-terror goals had been met.

Additional CP Pramod Singh Kushwaha revealed the details during a press conference this morning. The arrests took place over the past two days in multiple states.

Those arrested include one suspect from Jharkhand, two from Delhi originally from Mumbai, one from Nizamabad in Telangana, and another from Rajgarh in Madhya Pradesh. Officials seized sulfur powder, nitric acid, sulfuric acid, sodium bicarbonate, pH testers, ball bearings, wires, IED-making tools, laptops, mobile phones, firearms, and ammunition.

According to police, the suspects were working under instructions from a Pakistan handler who directed them to build a team and carry out attacks following the “Khilafat model.” Danish from Jharkhand, considered the key accused, allegedly coordinated directly with the handler. He used the online identity “Ghazwa Leader” with the codename “CEO.” Another accused, Aftab Ansari from Thane, was tasked with procuring weapons for target killings.

The arrested men, aged between 20 and 26, were reportedly trained to prepare explosives and use arms. Investigators also recovered incriminating drawings. Kushwaha said the operation foiled a major terror module supported from across the border.
