Hindus, Buddhists, and Christians reportedly face religious persecution from extremist groups. The letter also alleged show trials against former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and suspension of journalists’ press accreditations.

Expressing concern, the diaspora criticized the European Parliament’s recent praise of the interim regime. They urged the international community to challenge the narrative that shields undemocratic rule. The letters called for global attention to Bangladesh’s human rights violations and suppression of political freedom.
