He noted that Telugu professionals earn high per-capita income in many nations. Moreover, he pointed out that a large number of foreign students come from Telugu states. This global recognition, he said, significantly boosts the state’s image.

The Chief Minister explained that the Vishakha CII Summit rebuilt the state’s investment identity. Through the summit, Andhra Pradesh gained ₹13.26 lakh crore in commitments and 16 lakh potential jobs. Additionally, the State Investment Promotion Board cleared projects worth ₹8.29 lakh crore. He further mentioned that the Centre recently acknowledged Andhra Pradesh as the state with the highest number of industrial parks.

Naidu highlighted notable economic progress across sectors. During the first year, the state recorded 12.02% GSDP growth. In the second quarter, growth reached 11.28%, which was significantly higher than the national 8.7% rate. Furthermore, he set a 17% annual target and stressed accountability and transparency in all departments.

He also detailed reforms in irrigation, power, HRD, and regional development. To improve groundwater, the government plans new conservation systems. In addition, AP aims to reduce power costs and expand HRD centres. He added that upcoming technology and innovation hubs will push long-term economic growth across all regions.

AP Govt Expands Drug Regulation Network

The Andhra Pradesh government has strengthened its drug regulation system by launching 11 new Drug Control Offices across the state. Health Minister Satyakumar Yadav inaugurated the new buildings virtually from Mangalagiri. The government spent ₹11 crore on these facilities to improve public health services and tighten oversight on drug quality. Moreover, the minister said the expanded network will help the state act quickly against substandard and counterfeit medicines.

Better Infrastructure to Improve Testing Capacity

Satyakumar Yadav explained that drug offices had previously worked from rented spaces, which created several operational challenges. Now, the dedicated buildings offer improved infrastructure and remove those hurdles. Each year, officials collect nearly 4,000 drug samples for testing. Additionally, new laboratories will add capacity for another 3,000 samples. Although the expansion helps, the state still aims to reach its target of 9,000 more samples annually. A new state drug lab in Vijayawada will further support this goal by enabling 10,000 additional tests every year. The minister also stressed the need to eliminate faulty and expired medicines from the market to safeguard public health.

Govt to Address Staff Shortage and Licensing Violations

Satyakumar Yadav stated that the government will soon resolve staff shortages through the Medical Services Recruitment Board. During recent inspections, officials discovered that many pharmacies lacked valid licences. Shockingly, 148 out of 152 shops were operating without approval. Consequently, the minister warned that any corruption or violation—from officials or pharmacy owners—will attract strict action.

New Offices to Strengthen Public Safety

With these 11 new Drug Control Offices, the Drug Control Administration can expand its reach more effectively. The facilities will streamline inspections, licensing, and renewal procedures at the local level. As a result, officials expect a significant reduction in counterfeit drugs and unlicensed medical sales. Ultimately, these centres will improve quality checks, strengthen public safety, and support the government’s commitment to better healthcare delivery across the state.

Senior IPS officer PSR Anjaneyulu received significant relief from the Andhra Pradesh High Court on Thursday. He is a key accused in the APPSC Group-1 Mains evaluation irregularities and funds misuse case. Recently, he underwent a bypass surgery due to heart-related complications, and he sought medical bail because proper treatment was unavailable in prison. His legal team submitted a fresh request for an extension.

After reviewing his medical condition, Justice Y Lakshman Rao examined the appeal in detail. The court noted that his post-surgery recovery required continuous monitoring. As a result, the judge granted an additional two months of medical bail. This decision allows the officer to continue treatment without interruption. The court also directed him to submit medical updates regularly.

Meanwhile, investigators are still working on the pending aspects of the APPSC case. Officials stated that the inquiry is progressing, and they expect further developments. However, they added that Anjaneyulu’s temporary relief would not affect the investigation. His bail conditions will remain under close supervision.

With this extension, Anjaneyulu will stay under medical care while complying with court guidelines. The High Court may review his condition again if authorities file an updated medical report. Further hearings are likely once his recovery improves.

Under the Swamitva Scheme, property owners will receive official property cards after completion of land surveys. According to officials, the survey process is expected to be completed by December this year.

The coalition government has already engaged staff from village secretariats in this mission. Using drone technology, data from nearly 6,000 villages are being collected for 45 lakh properties. The information will be converted into Ortho Rectified Images for precise property parcel mapping, showing each plot’s length and width. Revenue and Panchayat Raj departments are jointly verifying these measurements. Reports indicate that surveys for over 43 lakh properties are complete.

Once verification is finished, authorities will issue public notices under Section 9(2) to receive objections from citizens. After resolving objections, final ownership records will be announced under Section 13. The verified owners’ lists will be displayed at village secretariats and panchayat offices.

Any required modifications will be made under the supervision of the MRO. The second phase of this massive initiative will begin after March 2026.

Chief Secretary Vijay Anand issued the official orders on Wednesday.

Rajendra Prasad has been appointed Managing Director of the Environment Development Corporation, while S.S. Sridhar will now serve as MD of the Forest Development Corporation. Saravanan has been given charge as Member Secretary of the Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board. These positions are considered important for the state’s environmental governance.

Other key postings include Srikantanath Reddy as Regional Manager of the Forest Development Corporation, B. Vijay Kumar as Field Director of the Srisailam Project Tiger Circle, and B.V.A. Krishnamurthy as Conservator of Forests, Kurnool Circle. Sources said the reshuffle aims to streamline forest and environmental administration across the state.

The government has signaled that such transfers are part of its broader plan to strengthen governance in critical sectors. With the forest and environment portfolio gaining more attention, the appointments are expected to improve management and accelerate developmental activities in line with state policies.
